Current mainstream science does not regard UFOs, near-death experiences (NDEs), and reincarnation as acceptable domains of study. NDEs and reincarnation imply the existence of a nonmaterial realm, which contradicts the fundamental assumptions and paradigm of current mainstream science, materialist as it is at its core. The UFO phenomenon, in principle, does not necessarily imply a nonmaterialist reality, since it could be extraterrestrial in nature, and mainstream science accepts the possibility of life—and even intelligent life—elsewhere in the universe. However, paranormal phenomena such as telepathy have often been associated with UFO encounters. This book demonstrates that there are mountains of scientific evidence for all three phenomena: UFOs, NDEs, and reincarnation. It renames reincarnation trans-spatio-temporal psychobiological preservation (TSTPBP) for greater scientific precision. The book argues strongly from both the top-down direction—showing why, from basic and first-principle considerations, it is sensitive to accept that these phenomena exist in the first place—and the bottom-up direction, by presenting concrete scientific data that supports their existence. The book also touches upon other paranormal phenomena, such as telepathy, psychokinesis, and clairvoyance, and develops a novel scientific framework and model to encompass them all. It demonstrates how all these phenomena, including the UFO phenomenon, are connected in deep and fundamental ways. The reality we inhabit can be interpreted and understood coherently only within this new framework.
As this book went to press in mid-2026, a major development was unfolding: the release of a series of UFO files and videos by the U.S. Department of War on May 8, 2026, through the website www.war.gov/UFO. The site reportedly attracted one billion views within two weeks. In that sense, the book was prescient. As further information continues to be released, it may challenge and transform human politics, religion, science, and society in profound and fundamental ways. Scientists and members of the public who hold to the current mainstream view may experience ontological shock. This book therefore offers a new framework for scientific thinking and, with it, intellectual guidance for navigating the monumental changes that may shake soon mainstream science to its foundations.
